For years I've looked for a floor desk option and this fits perfectly! I love how quickly it goes up and down, though I had to learn how to do it without everything sliding off. My only concern is with the scratchy, unfinished edges. I feel like they should have been more smoothly sanded. I find they catch snags on my clothing. The other challenge is that when kneeling, I can't get close enough to the keyboard because of the base.
Neither of these diminish my love for the product and I use it all day every day! The top level holds my light and mic connected to my laptop, it is perfect!
This is the most beautifully designed piece of furniture that I own. I feel like everything has been really well considered, is sustainable, great quality and really well designed. I have no doubt this will be the last desk I will need to purchase.
Bart has been incredibly helpful in enabling me to get this desk after a very long time of wishing I had one. So, thank you!
I am not capable of following instructions to setup furniture; my wife usually does that, and I assist. But I was able to set this desk up almost entirely by myself with the help of the step-by-step videos. This works much better for my brain so thanks for not supplying the horrendous paper instructions you get elsewhere. I did have some trouble with the rope I don't know why but we assembled and disassembled the desk 3 times before my wife took over and fixed it for me. My brain could not process how to do that bit.
My setup is that I have 2 x 28inch monitors. It's very easy for my desk to go down but it is harder to bring it up. I have added all of the counterbalance weights. I added some of my own weights to see if that helped and it did but everything is designed so it all has a place so there isn't room for adding anything else to the desk. I have been able to lift with the sides of the desk, but it is still a bit heavy. I would recommend if you are on the shorter side (I'm 5"4) get the petal instead so it is easier to life from the sides. I usually do have larger desks but I don't think you need it with Limber as its better not to have too much weight on the desk anyway so you will probably find you just keep your necessities on the desk. I love that the desk goes to any height you want it makes it so flexible. I read some people say they can't stretch their legs out but I'm pretty short so mine stretch out just fine. I love the wheels. I can keep my walking pad setup permanently and then wheel my desk out of the way when I want to sit on the floor. Definitely get the integrated cabling if you are planning on buying one of these desks it is so worth having that.
I also have to add my dogs love that they get to snuggle up next to me while I'm working on the floor, so they seem pretty happy with the desk as well. And thank you for the chocolate bar that goes very well for setting up the desk!
This has helped me get so much more mobile at work. It's beautiful and great quality and so adjustable so everyone can use it. My only complaint is that it is quite heavy for me to lift up onto my desk.
I work from home, I was sitting all day in the same place day after day. Since I got the mini limber I feel energised and more creative. I stand in the mornings and move around the house into different spots during the afternoon. My hips and back pain have gone. I haven’t used a chair since having the mini! I feel more productive and love the ease of the positioning! Only wished I got the mini limber sooner.
Have had my linear desk 1 week. Assembles easily. Functions as it promises to. Already seeing benefits to my health and productivity when doing office work
Bought one as a friend strongly recommended. Owned for a few months - so now happy to leave a very positive review.
It's a brilliant desk. Lots of positions, moves fast up and down, looks great and is solid. Moves around easily. Far superior to the sit/stand desks available.
Definitely increases flexibility with floor postures. It's great. Strong recommend.
Hey Pierre, thank you! I am so happy to hear this. Keep moving! - Bart
I absolutely love my Petal desk. It is so perfect. I love the flexibility of being able to stand, sit on a chair and sit on the floor - it feels so much healthier for my body than just using a chair. It's construction and aesthetic is so clever and beautiful. I'm so happy with it:)
I am so glad I went with a floor to stand desk rather than just a regular sit/stand desk. Working from the floor has been a game changer, and gives you so many more options to move and stretch during the day. I've noticed my body feeling much better by the end of my work day - less stiff and sore and more tired (in a good way) from being active during the day. I hardly use my regular desk chair anymore, and mostly go from floor to standing.
The desk was really easy to put together, and I really like the fact it's not got any electronics, and moving it up and down gives my arms a little workout as well.
I got the large size and have two monitors mounted and it is a little heavy, but manageable.
The only issue I had was that my monitor cables were too big to be able to hide through the desk as shown in the video, but this didn't matter to me much because overall my desk looks much cleaner than it did before under this setup. And if I do upgrade my monitors, I'll just make sure I get the right sized cords.
Thanks Limber for your innovative product.
Hi Felicity, thanks so much for this wonderful review! Thinking about the cords, can you let me know how this they are? I am keen to understand this to see if there is a wayto solve it for you so you can have floating screens and a tidy desk :) - Bart
My posture was better after 1 day of using this desk. Love it!
Wahoo! We started desigining our desks for this exact reason, so it makes me very happy to hear it :) - Bart
I am very happy with the stool. I use it to meditate each morning (lowest level) Rest of the day I use it behind my desk (working from the floor) and then I use the highest level. Beautiful design. My girlfriend fabricated a cushion for it. Very happy
I've had my Limber for four months now and I really love it. I love being able to sit on the floor, kneel and stand up, and I love being able to move it into (or very occasionally out of) the sun. I wasn't expecting the wheels to be as useful as they are!
If you're looking at this review, you probably have a good understanding of the upsides already and are trying to decide if it's worth the cost, so I'll focus on the downsides.
- The most surprising is that it makes a bit of noise from the wood expanding/contracting. It's not too bad - it hasn't interrupted meetings or anything, and seems to mostly happen in summer evenings when I have it in direct sunlight all day so YMMV.
- I've somehow scratched the desk so now I'm a bit paranoid about having anything too solid on it.
- I wish there was a gap under the base so I could sit with my legs fully straight forwards.
- I still need a normal chair for when it's disruptive to be moving around too much (eg long meetings or playing video games), or when I'm sick. But since I don't need it much, I didn't need to buy an expensive ergonomic chair.
- I found it took a bit to get used to moving the desk down. Mostly it's fine now, but I still sometimes struggle a bit.
One other thing to note (I can't tell if it's a pro or a con though!), is that the supplied weights are about right for a laptop and two monitors; if you don't keep your desk tidy, it gets hard to lift (and if you only have one monitor, you'll want to remove some weight, otherwise it is too hard to move down).
Overall, I love my desk and hate having to go back to "normal" desks, so I'd recommend getting one if you're the sort of person who wants to be able to sit on the floor and stand up while working.
In terms of the extra additions:
* I really like the stool, but probably use it too much to sit still.
* The headphone hanger is cute but feels like it's missing something - I keep knocking it off the desk when I'm moving from sitting to standing or vice versa.
* The built-in powerbank is brilliant.
* The posture course is probably worth it for people who don't already stretch, but if you've done splits training in the past, it's not really worth the money imo. There were a couple of interesting challenges suggested though that I hadn't come across before.
Hi Shahne, thank you so much for this incredible review! All the points I have noted, the feedback is so so helpful :) Bart
Kia ora, I am a Taijiquan teacher of some 38 years and as such, I practice Taiij (Tai Chi) as a martial art and as moving meditation. I wanted a meditation stool that I could travel with for those times when I wish to be seated to meditate and this stool is beautiful simplicity itself. I am also a woodworker so appreciate wood in all contexts. Love the aesthetic of the design; the way the pieces articulate; the size; the packing down for travel - awesome work, thank you!
Well made, easy to put together and adjust, great to use as a standing desk.
The weight just makes it a bit more challenging to move around.
Hi Katie!
Thank you for your positive review! I am glad to hear that you are enjoying your Mini Limber. We take pride in creating a well-made and versatile product that is easy to use. I appreciate your feedback about the weight and will keep it in mind for future improvements. Keep moving and stay limber!
Bart
I love working at the mini limber and my back and body is thanking me! So beautifully designed and crafted also. Thoroughly recommend
Awesome!!! So happy to hear this. Thanks for recommending!
Thrilled with the sitting mat from Limber - great to use with desk and also for use in meditation.
After only a couple of weeks, my posture has improved and I am able to maintain my concentration for longer periods of time. The Mini Limber is an elegant addition to my office, making studying online a pleasure.
Hey Naomi!

I must admit I was hesitant to spend so much on desk. But I am so impressed with the design and quality of it, it is money well spent. Even my husband was impressed (not easily done with anything of a design nature!) The video instructions for assembly were professional, clear and logical - and very kiwi in its friendly nature. The posture course is also good, and I'd have no hesitation asking any questions. If you do buy a limber desk - its worth considering the built in extension lead - its made to fit the design of the desk and I think you'd struggle to fit an alternate extension board in there. Also, the box that is delivered is large and heavy. We have 104 steps to our property so we opened the box and carried it down in parts.
Wow! thank you so much for an incredible review. You really have got everything out of it we deisgned it for and it makes my day to read this!!! 104 steps is a lot! Often the courier drivers will do that for you because they have to have 2 people on the truck to drop them off. Sorry you had to do this yourself, what a mission! I am glad it was worth it though :) - Bart
I was having lower back pain and stiffness of back for years ,
I was doing 30 hours sitting at my desk per week and got it recommended by my local physio.
And after 3 weeks of standing and sitting in my new saddle seat I’m 80 percent better !!!!!
So yes it works !!!!!
Wow, Ben! I am so so happy to hear that your back is getting better!!!! This is the reason we designed it an it makes my day when we get reviews like this. Keep moving! - Bart
And a good product...valuable when working online from home to look after your body.
Loving being able to work from the ground. Amazing being able to adjust my desk to the perfect height for me. Its a nice bit of kit but really quite heavy and hence not as manoeuvrable as I had hoped.
I've been looking for a floor desk for a while, not knowing it was a thing. Have tried various trays and picnic tables but they never have enough real estate. I have several gripes with this, as listed below.
1. It is expensive. I was happy tp pay though in the interests of supporting small business and realising I'm paying as much for a development process as a product; however it's not designed not made particularly well:
2. The desk is not flat. It has about a 5% slope which causes uncapped pens to roll off regularly (onto my expensive carpet) and strongly offends my aesthetic sensibility.
3. Unlike the advertising video, my desk judders violently when wedging the height up and down. It doesn't come close to sliding smoothly and the first time I tried by my coffee cup and my laptop ended on the floor. That could have been very expensive. Thus I have to take everything off before changing the height. There are also tacky bits of plastic attached (carefully edited from all marketing materials) presumably to stop the desk from sliding involuntarily.
4. The vertical piece of wood the desks sit on blocks both my light and my view leaving me feeling hemmed in and claustrophobic. Its also much too high and 'towers' over me.
5. It also doesn't allow me to stretch my legs out in front of me.
5. Furthermore, the angle of this bit of wood also leaves my laptop screen to far away for me to see (I wear reading glasses) thus rendering the whole setup useless.
6. The desk bites into the vertical section of wood, leaving ugly marks.
7. The sander has clearly 'skipped' during finishing, leaving a less than clean finish. Not acceptable at this price point.
8. The stool was not intuitive to set up and there were no instructions included. I had to scan a code to watch a video on my phone, which was so small on my phone that it was almost impossible to see. Well it was impossible without glasses.
Very very disappointed. Have since bought some adjustable legs to put on a cheap coffee table which works much better.
Hi Kirsten, wow, I am so sorry to hear that the Mini did not work out for you. It sounds like you had a terrible experience and it didn't work at all how it is supposed to. I can confirm, since you returned the desk and we inspected it, that is was not flat and there was juddering due to one of the parts being cut imperfectly causing more tightness than there should have been.
We have a lifetime gaurantee on the Mini because we are so confident in the quality of the design and the materials. This is a very rare example of something getting through our quite extensive quality checks, and I am so very sorry about this.
It is for the very rare circumstance like this (we have had less than 1% of desks returned) that we offer free shipping and free returns with a no questions asked refund policy. It also give people the chance to return the Mini if it ends up not working for your space, vision and workflow.
I hope your coffee tabel has solved this for you (I love this approach btw!) and if you ever feel you have a perfect design in mind, please get in touch as I would love the challenge of making you your perfect custom setup. Which I promise I will personally quality check before we ship it to you :)

Have had my Limber for several weeks now - I work from home twice a week, 8-10 desk hours at a time, and it’s made a huge difference. Much less back/neck/shoulder pain, plus it’s just such a beautiful piece of equipment to use - high quality, well designed - makes me feel peaceful just using it! My only comment for potential purchasers (and maybe for future product development) is that it’s a little harder than it looks to assemble if you’re a smaller person (like me) - the pieces are pretty solid and you need a bit of strength and leverage to put it together. Having said this, it’s all very manageable - you may just not be having the totally effortless experience it looks like from the vid! I’m absolutely loving the Limber and would be recommending it to anyone who’s considering it - felt pricey but soooo well worth it!!
I am SUPER impressed with this mini desk! You did such an amazing job designing it on all fronts! Working from the floor with the stool has helped my back / neck pain tremendously!!! I am definitely wowed. Would highly recommend it! Thank you so much for creating such an incredible product! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Wow! thank you so much Danielle, I am so happy to hear this! I started this business to help people with their back pain so it is always an extra special day when I get reveiws like this! Keep moving and stay well! - Bart
